Senior Financial Analyst

The successful candidate will be expected to work successfully and independently with a portfolio of business owners on a continuing basis, providing analysis to help them make significant impacts in their businesses. The position involves the key ability to interpret business situations and to develop quality, timely and impactful analysis followed by the ability to effectively communicate the implications in an influential, yet diplomatic manner. 

 

This includes a high comfort level with financial statement analysis and an understanding of accounting fundamentals. Equally important is a demonstrated effectiveness at interpersonal communication skills. The candidate should genuinely enjoy working with a variety of business owners in helping them work through challenges and achieve goals in their businesses. The candidate must also excel in a team environment.

 

This person must be adept at determining the root cause of issues, structuring the analysis, gathering the relevant information, managing expectations, influencing others and driving projects to successful completion. One must be able to extrapolate data patterns and complete timely analysis despite ambiguous or incomplete data sets.

 

Examples of projects include: Developing long range financial plans, forecasting, business valuation, cash flow analysis, analyzing monthly financial statements and evaluating / quantifying impacts of various business scenarios.

Financial Analyst

The successful applicant will be expected to work within a team environment providing financial analysis in a wide range of situations. The position involves analytical work, independent research and the ability to communicate findings in a professional and efficient manner. This person must have an aptitude for diagnosing business problems, structuring analysis, determining the root cause of issues, managing expectations, influencing others, multi-tasking, and driving projects to successful completion.

 

Examples of projects include: Analyzing financial statements; benchmarking of company financial results against peers; detailed transaction analysis to identify trends; establishing financial plans; developing financial models; doing valuations of companies and entities; financial analysis of complex organizations; analysis of organization structures and systems; development and documentation of policies and procedures; creation of written reports highlighting significant findings and assumptions for client review.

 

Must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

·       Intermediate level of technical finance skills

·       Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement relationships

·       Proficiency with Excel
